Short history of the Silverbirds Actually, the band H.M.H. (Heinz-Margareta-Heinz) is not a new band. It was well known as the "Bavarian Trio" during the 60's and 70's and has been quite successful with its musical selections all around the province of Quebec for many years. In those days Heinz played the accordion, his spouse played the drums. They were joined by Karlheinz with his guitar in 1973. The strong points of these musicians have always been their vocals and they have pampered the dancers and listeners with heartwarming songs and melodies for dancing. A pause happened. Heinz and Margareta decided to seek a different life under the palm trees of Florida. Everything was packed including the suitcase of sheet music and that one was not opened for the next eleven years. However, during that period the trio met occasionally and liked to talk about the good old days. Maybe this was bound to happen, but the trio rejoined in 1995 and then the household and the musical instruments were brought back up north, though it still was not planned to perform for the public again. They met occasionally to play their instruments - for the fun of it and for the love of music. Much later it was decided to reactivate their band. They practiced frequently and new songs were added to their large repertory. Tastes in music had changed in the intervening years and the trio did not wish to be overlooked with outdated music. After many months of discussions and training the talented band went back on stage and things have been going up and up ever since. Excellent musical equipment and a satisfactory program of music for entertainment and dancing have become an important part of the Silverbirds band. The best of the best for young and old is offered now and newly applauded at every occasion. The Silverbirds have published 15 CD's since 2002 and more are planned for the future. Die Musikgruppe H. M. H (Heinz – Margareta – Heinz) ist eigentlich keine neue Musikgruppe. Sie ist uns noch von den 60 -70 Jahren als das Bavarian Trio bestens bekannt. Sie waren mit ihren musikalischen Darbietungen viele Jahre rund um Quebec sehr erfolgreich. Damals spielte Heinz das Akkordeon, seine Ehefrau spielte das Schlagzeug. 1973 kam Karlheinz mit der Gitarre dazu. Die große Stärke dieser Musiker lag schon immer im Gesang. Man verwöhnte die Tänzer und Zuhörer mit Liedern und Tanzmelodien, die zu Herzen gingen. Es trat eine Musikpause ein. Heinz und Margareta entschlossen sich ein besseres Leben unter Floridas Palmen zu suchen. Alles wurde eingepackt - auch der Notenkoffer und dieser wurde für elf Jahre nicht geöffnet. Über die Jahre traf sich das Trio dennoch öfters in Montreal und man sprach gerne noch von den guten alten Zeiten. Umständehalber, oder möglicherweise war es auch eine Vorbestimmung: Das Trio vereinigte sich wieder 1995. Der Haushalt und die Instrumente wurden wieder nördlich gebracht. Wieder zu unterhalten war aber noch nicht auf dem Plan. Man spielte eben des Öfteren zusammen – aus reiner Liebe zur Musik. Dann viel später entzündete sich der Wunsch wieder aktiv zu werden. Es wurde fleißig geprobt und neue Lieder bereicherten schon das große Repertoire. Die Musikrichtung hat sich ja in der Zwischenzeit geändert und das Trio wollte nicht etwa ins Hinterfeld gelangen. Nach vielen Monaten der Unter - und Überredung wagte sich die talentierte Gruppe mit Zuversicht wieder auf die Bühnen. Von nun an ging es immer aufwärts. Eine gute Musikanlage und ein zufrieden stellendes Musikprogramm sind ein fester Bestandteil der Silberspatzen geworden. Das Beste vom Besten wird für Jung und Alt geboten und bei jeder Unterhaltung neu unter Beweis gestellt. Seit dem Jahre 2002 sind schon 15 CDs von den Silberspatzen erschienen und noch weitere für die Zukunft geplant.
